'Round My Door (Threshold Music 2008)
‘Round My Door finds Dana delving ever deeper into his visions of the American landscape. Songs such as “Everett Ruess,” “’Round My Door,” “Cotton From The Clay” and “Watercolor Eyes” highlight Dana’s ability to “…paint with words images so arresting they seem three dimensional” (Rock and Reel), while songs like Woody Guthrie’s “Pastures of Plenty” and the old-time tune “Glory in the Meeting House” are a nod to their traditional influences. The arrangements are classic Dana & Susan Robinson with the guitar and banjo front and center and smatterings of percussion, mandolin, piano, and steel and electric guitar around the edges.

Farmer Saints, Cowboys, Tramps, Railroad workers, Soul Searchers, and Hemp Activists all inhabit these songs. The Berkshire Mountains, Nevada desert, Sandhills of Nebraska, Iowa farmland, the Susquehanna, Mississippi, and Brazos Rivers provide settings for these characters.
