OLD TIME MUSIC
Since first attending his first fiddlers convention (Mt Airy, NC) in 1986, Dana has been a passionate fiddle and old-time rhythm guitar player. His 2004 duo album with his wife, Susan, Native Soil, was universally praised for its warm, authentic blend of old-time Southern string-band traditions and contemporary acoustic music.
At home in Vermont, Dana founded the Oldtime on the Onion Festival in 2016, the Green Mountain Oldtime Workshop Weekend in 2024, and every Sunday afternoon since 2017 Dana has hosted the Old-time Jam Session at Harry’s Hardware in Cabot. In 2025 the band, New Lost Nation was formed out of the vibrant old-time music scene in Central Vermont.

NEW LOST NATION
New Lost Nation is an old-time string band that has emerged out of the vibrant traditional music scene of Central Vermont. The line-up features Dana Robinson on fiddle and vocals, Tom McKenzie on banjo and vocals, Susan Robinson on guitar and vocals, and Neal McNaughton on bass.
New Lost Nation's sound is distinctly Southern-Appalachian, and inspired by the Round Peak style in North Carolina, as well as the deep well of old-time fiddle tunes and traditional songs from throughout North America.
